Just a little heads up

Today was a nice restful Sunday. We slept in and then we all went to Cascade Park for a little walk before the rain got here.

Our little Fi is getting stronger all the time. She can hold up her head really well now! Dave took this photo today.

Doctor visit

Fiona went to the doctor for her checkup and, of course, her shots. We learned that she is 11lbs. 15 oz., and is around the 50th percentile in every measurement except her weight. Our chunky monkey is at he 70th percentile. We love chubby babies!

Fiona cried when she got her shots, but forgot what happened just a few moments later. I bet getting shots will be far worse when she's old enough to know what is happening.

Fiona's Michigan Tour

We just got back from a great trip to Michigan to see most of our family and friends who live there. Fiona was a superstar! She was her sweet, happy self and did great in the car, sleeping almost the whole time we were driving.

First stop: Great-Grandma Campbell's house

Grandma cooked dinner for us and made banana cream pie. I ate 2 pieces (bad Jen!). It was also a nice surprise that Aunt Debbie and Aunt Susan, Alyssa and Caitlin stopped by to visit too! Aunt Debbie gave Fiona a bottle and Grandma got to rock the baby to sleep in her rocking chair. Caitlin loved holding her too.

Second stop: Houghton Lake, Grandma and Grandpa's house

On Thursday, some friends came over and we had a little party. Grandma made lots of good food for everyone. Mmmmm... chicken casserole. I want that recipe, by the way. Dave and Jen got to kick back and play some euchre. Fiona was really talkative and everyone got to see her smiles and hear her adorable little baby coos.

Third stop: Alma

We stopped for lunch in Alma to see some friends. We had lunch with the library staff at El Vaquero and everyone got to hold the baby. It was so good to see everyone! We haven't been to Alma since we moved almost 2 years ago. We stopped by Helman's Market to visit (and to pick up some jalepeno brats for us and for Karin). We left with an adorable card made by Carla, chili, koegel's dogs, potato bacon soup, and some Helman's market t-shirts that Doug had printed (blue and gold, of course).

Fourth stop: Aunt Michele & Uncle Ward's house

Everyone gathered at Michele & Ward's Friday night to meet little Fiona. Ward and Michele cooked out on the grill for everyone. Fiona was a superstar! We played pass the baby and took turns holding her. Fiona had a stuffy nose that day, so her daddy went out to get saline drops and two little drops did the trick. Kelsey and Amanda especially loved snuggling with Fiona, and Kelsey even got to feed her a bottle of milk.

Fifth stop: Auntie Karin's house

Fiona's Auntie Karin let us invite the whole Starkey clan over to come meet Fiona! She was a superstar again! Fiona was extra smiley and was awake and alert much of the day. Everyone had a good time relaxing and catching up. On Sunday we were all lazy bums and hung out on the couch watching the Red Wings game and the Tigers game. Grandpa took the photos with his sweet digital SLR camera, so I'll post a few sometime in the future.

Thanks, everyone for being great hosts for us! We love having visitors too, so let us know if you'd like to come see us in Ohio!

Babies, babies, babies!!!

We had a baby-rific weekend and a house full of visitors! Fiona and JJ got to meet for the first time and there was an abundance of cuteness. The Great-grandparents, Grandma NeeNee, Grandpa Chubby, Uncle Andy, Aunt Stephanie and Cousin JJ all came to visit from Tennessee, Michigan and Texas.

Hula girl

We had some warm weather today, so I picked out this adorable onesie!
